INTRODUCTION
MahaSangram, which translates to “the ultimate battle”, started off as the first ever parliamentary debate league in Nepal, being organized by the Debate Network Nepal. It is now the nation’s official and largest BP championship. With the history of the previous 4 years of competitive debating, MahaSangram has earned the name of the most prestigious debating championship in Nepal.
The first ever MahaSangram was organized in 2015 at/in partnership with King’s College. The second MahaSangram was held in 2016 in partnership with Samriddhi Foundation. MahaSangaram III and IV were organized in collaboration with Xavier Academy, Lazimpat.
Format: British Parliamentary format
Team capacity in total: 40 (2 debaters per team)
Who can participate: Students from Grade 8-12 or equivalent
Breaking teams (English opens category): 16 for Quarterfinals
Breaking teams (Schools category): 6 for Pre-finals
Breaking teams (Nepali category): 8 for Semi-finals
