DEBATE AARAMBHA

“Debate Aarambha” is an outreach program aimed at empowering youth through debating, public speaking, and critical thinking. Since its inception in 2015, Debate Aarambha has been conducted across Nepal, including places like Pokhara, Lumbini, and Gorkha.
The program’s primary goal is to promote parliamentary debating nationwide, providing a platform for young individuals to develop crucial skills such as effective communication, logical reasoning, and persuasive argumentation. By institutionalizing debate culture in Nepal, Debate Aarambha creates a nurturing environment that encourages individual growth, intellectual discourse, and critical analysis.
Through Debate Aarambha, DNN envisions a generation of confident and articulate individuals capable of making meaningful contributions to society. By nurturing the talents and potential of young minds, this initiative plays a pivotal role in shaping the future leaders and critical thinkers of Nepal.

DEBATE TUK-TUK

Debate Tuktuk is our latest initiative aimed at fostering parliamentary debating culture across Nepal. Held in July 2023 at Gorkha Modern School, this initiative marks a significant step towards decentralizing and expanding the scope of debating beyond the capital city. Our goal is to facilitate training programs and establish debate clubs in educational institutions across all seven provinces of Nepal.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from 120 to 130 students, ranging from grades 7 to 10, showcasing a diverse and engaged cohort. This reflects our commitment to nurturing debating skills and promoting critical thinking among young Nepali students nationwide.

TARKASCHOOL

“Debate is Cool” is an annual foundational training module designed for schools to introduce parliamentary debating and argumentation. The program consists of three classes per week, featuring demo debates, interactive lectures with drills, practice debates followed by feedback, access to regular practice platforms, and support for club formation.
Structured to sustain debate skills through consistent training sessions, “Debate is Cool” fosters positive changes in students’ oration, analysis, critical thinking, and argumentation abilities.

Ideal for institutions aiming to integrate debating into their Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) or Co-Curricular Activities (CCA), the program prepares students for international styles of debating. At the conclusion of the program, students gain the skills to organise their own institution-level tournaments, providing them with a sense of achievement and practical exposure to debate culture.
Beyond skill development, “Debate is Cool” offers numerous benefits to students and institutions, including networking opportunities and the potential for future collaborations on projects. DNN is dedicated to supporting newly formed debate clubs in achieving their specific goals and aligning with their vision.
