Pradeep GhimirePradeep has been known as a pioneering figure in Nepali debating movement. After returning home from 1st IDEA Asia Youth Forum in Thailand, he co-founded Debate Network Nepal in 2013 and gave active leadership to Nepali debate movement until 2017 following which he has mostly been in advisory roles. He also served as the national representative for World Universities Debating Championship and World Schools Debating Championship (2016/17).

He has a long list of tournaments as a judge and has represented Nepal on numerous occasions. He was a co-chief adjudicator of the very first MahaKumbha schools debate championship in 2014 and the same year he was invited to Pakistan to judge in the University of Management and Technology debate tournament. In 2015, he was a judge at the Global Health Debates in the Philipines. Pradeep also judged in two World Schools Debating Championships – Singapore 2015 and Germany 2016. He is also the top-on-tab chief adjudicator of The Liberty Debates Championship MahaSangram 2016, Nepal’s biggest BP debate championship. In 2017, Pradeep bagged the title of the best adjudicator in both the first VidhuShe International Women’s Debating Championship and the third annual MahaSangram International BP Debating Championship. He was also an invited and breaking adjudicator at the 6th China BP.

As a debater, he became the champion and bagged the best speaker award in SOMTU Debates 2017 Kathmandu, got into the top 6 best speakers in the second Chelsea Debate Fest organized in 2012 in Kathmandu, became an octafinalist in the 1st IDEA Asia Youth Forum in 2012 in Thailand and became the champion of the first edition of Kathmandu Debating Challenge in Nepali in 2015. He represented Kathmandu University in 36th World Universities Debating Championship in Greece in 2016 where he set a national record for Nepal at the time, together with his teammate Raj Kharel.

An International Relations graduate from Cardiff University as a Chevening Scholar, Pradeep completed his second Masters in Political Science from Tribhuvan University. He is a former Leo of the year and has been a textbook author, mentor, and entrepreneur. He is an alumnus of US Department of State exchange program and US Embassy Youth Council Nepal and a recipient of the Indian Embassy awarded Golden Jubilee scholarships.
